A UK wedding blog with the aim of inspiring brides to create a day which will make them and their guests beam with delight.....whilst of course with a glass of champagne in hand.
Winter brides can keep cosy in bridal shrugs and here are some of my favourite ones. Whether you decide to splash out or be more conservative with your spending there is something for everyone out there.
All you need is a pair of uggs to keep your feet cosy.
Your stationery is the first thing that your guests will see of the wedding day, so it has to be right. This is where Com Bossa come in handy and they are running a competition with a prize of £500 of stationery…this is not one to miss out on.
To tell you more about Com Bossa I will hand you over to Richard:
We also offer a fully bespoke design service. Providing clients with a full design consultation and creating unique wedding stationery they will always treasure.

An autumn wedding can be really quite special; the leaves turn and give the most wonderfully colourful backdrop and the sky is crisp and blue. Pumpkins could be used for decoration but who said that they have to be orange?
Apologies for the short post but I’m hosting a girly weekend and thought this was the perfect time to put my newly acquired (invented) housewife skills to the test; cookies, cakes and beef wellington…this is going to need all my concentration! Crisps, houmous and wine are my back up/chef’s snack.
A headpiece could be the thing that you are missing for your day and these ones from Debbie Carlise cater for vintage sparkles and flowers in both statement pieces and more delicate ones. Whether it’s for all day or just to lift you ‘evening look’, these headpieces are the perfect accessory.
These images are from the 2013 collection and my personal favourites are Violet and Lottie.
Debbie Carlisle also designs jewelled bouquets which are worth a look if you want something different.
If you want wedding shoes that sparkle then here are a few that I have found, most should be snag proof for the bottom of your all important dress. One of the best websites I came across for more traditional wedding shoes is Girls of Elegance.
If a Vera Wang gown isn’t enough to lure you into this wedding, it is also full of DIY ideas, bright colours, vintage touches and (my personal favourite) a Jenga guestbook. The whole wedding day ended in a trip for all to the bowling alley…bride in bowling shoes…how awesome is that?
Jamie is a graphic designer and Brian is a car guy. Jamie is all about awesome so the whole day was filled with things like “the best day ever” and during the ceremony, “will you take Jamie to be your awesome wife?”
Jamie handmade all of the paper flowers for the tables, the bridesmaids bouquet and her own bouquet as well. Her dress was by Vera Wang while the bridesmaids wore Modcloth dresses.
The altar was a salvage fireplace backed with ribbon and place cards hung from a salvaged door. After the ceremony they had a restored Ford as a getaway car. They served a breakfast buffet for dinner and ended the night with limo rides to the bowling alley for an after-hours celebration. Her DIY and design work is throughout the wedding: flowers, place cards, table gift, altar.
With winter drawing in and a friend’s December wedding approaching, I’ve been thinking a lot about Christmas Weddings and the cosiness that surrounds them.
This range from DotComGiftShop is filled with the perfect Christmas gifts and/or wedding décor.
Needless to say that you won’t find anything worse than the paper shredder that my mum gave my dad a few years ago as his main gift; she thought that he would enjoy a ‘new toy’. Hmmm, we were all less than convinced but it did align with the pritt-sticks that myself and my sisters had received in our stockings at the start of the day. Needless to say it was somewhat of a stationery themed Christmas (I think W H Smith had some offers on that year).
We all mocked her at the time but they have all come in useful since…
Here are some of my favourite pieces that would help transform your winter wedding/party/Christmas day:
