Time to Drink Champagne

New York is my playground - Natalie & Gregory

This engagement shoot was submitted by one of my readers and I love it. Captured by Adagion Studio, every single photograph is completely different and I can’t decide which one is my favourite…something that doesn’t usually happen for me.

It is a truly beautiful engagement shoot and I am chuffed to bits to get to share it with you, I can only imagine how spectacular the wedding will be.

Oh and I should probably warn you, get ready to have some serious shoe envy!

LA Fairground Fun - Kaylyn & Pat

This engagement shoot submitted by Meghan Wiesman Photography is a great example of how to have fun with your shoot.

I am a bit of a big kid when it comes to the fair so the location for this at Los Angeles County Fair is magical in my eyes. Meghan has captured the energy and fun of Kaylyn and Pat on a beautifully colourful backdrop. Just marvellous!

An Energetic Engagement Shoot - Matt & Vera

This quirky and energetic engagement shoot is brought to you by DwJohnson Studio via Two Bright Lights. Lauren from DwJohnson Studio described this couple, “Matt and Vera met on the track team at Indiana University, in Bloomington, Indiana. Vera is currently training for the Olympic Trials, as a pole vaulter.”

Impressive! It also explains how Vera is able to hold the perfect handstand….enjoy.

Engagement Shoot in the Autumn Leaves - Stephanie & Daniel

These stunning pictures of Stephanie and Dan’s engagement shoot come from FlickFoto Photography via Two Bright Lights. They were captured in the beautiful Valley Forge National Park and they make me want to go and run through piles of yellow autumn leaves (whilst attempting to be as photogenic as this couple) …I will of course have to wait quite a few months before that is even possible, so for now, I will just have to enjoy these photos!

Full of Engagement Laughter - Clarissa & Tyson

This engagement shoot was submitted by FlickFoto Photgraphy and is one of the happiest shoots I have seen. Sarah from FlickFoto describes the day as, ”I have never worked with clients who smiled as much as Clarissa & Tyson. It made it ever more fun for me as their engagement session photographer, to work with them. There were no cheesy or fake smiles—just laughter and love. The session was photographed at Temple University’s Ambler Campus’ Arboretum and ended with water ice at Rita’s.”

This is definitely a smile infectious shoot and I love it.

War Paint Engagement Shoot

This has to be up there as one of the best and original engagement shoots ever! I am lucky enough to have been submitted it by DwJohnson Studio.

A few words from the groom on their inspiration, “We were sitting around one day talking about movies and realized we both love the movie “Ten things I hate about you”.  We talked about the scene where the 2 main characters are running around and throwing paint filled water balloons at each other. At the end of the scene they are kissing with paint covered faces and laughing with each other. We both looked at each other and agreed that would be fun to do… We ended up ordering color powder from India based off the traditional Indian Festival of Color called Holi.  The paint arrived and we had a lovely color fight and DwJohnson photography was ready and willing to help capture the moment.”

I am also lucky enough to be able to share their proposal story as well, “On December 28th, 2011 I surprised Samantha with a day trip to New York City.  Neither one of us had ever been to New York, so this was a new adventure for us both and it was symbolic of the new adventure of our marriage that’s to come!  I took her to see a Broadway musical (something she always wanted to do).  We walked around Time Square.

Then we walked down to Rockefeller Center where I had gotten VIP tickets to go ice skating in front of the giant Christmas tree.  We skated for a short while and then I pulled her into the center of the ice rink and told her I loved her for the very first time (I promised myself I would never say “I love you” to a girl unless I was going to marry her), and then got down one knee and asked her to marry me.

Everyone in the place stopped skating and started cheering when she said YES!  Then I surprised her again because I had flown out her best friend along with my roommate to spend the night with us in New York City. We stayed up half the night running around enjoying New York City.  Oh and my roommate is David Johnson of DwJohnson photography so we got some cool photos of the proposal too!”

So without further ado, here is the awesome engagement shoot….it will get you in the mood for a paint fight! I can only imagine how brilliant the wedding day will be!

NYC Engagement Shoot

Scott Kretschmann Photography shot this a-mazing NYC engagement that I get to share with you all. The day went something like this:

Kelly and Brian love color and light so we decided to hit up the Meatpacking District and the High Line Park for the first part of their session. After walking the High Line and having some fun with the cobblestone streets and graffiti in the Meatpacking District, we headed over to the ever so iconic Brooklyn Bridge. This place is a must have for all our NYC couples it seems, and I can see why – it always makes for a gorgeous backdrop. We’re really thrilled with the awesome shots we got there, and as much fun as we had, it only got better from there. Once we finished on the Brooklyn Bridge, we walked back to their place in the Financial District to go spend a little time with their puppy Georgia. She was totally loving us and was seriously one of the happiest and sweetest dogs you will ever meet! After taking Georgia for a walk they headed in to change outfits and we hit up their rooftop deck to catch the sunset. There are few things out there as cool as a rooftop in New York City and the sunset didn’t disappoint. We then headed back into town for some night pictures, where else but the iconic Times Square. We even managed to co-opt the cab driver into letting us take some shots with his cab!

Is it just me that now wants to move to New York?!

Engagement Shoot in the park

Engagement shoots are very much ‘in vogue’ at the moment and I think that the more fun and personality that you can put into them, the more you will enjoy the shoot and the results.

And this shoot captures that perfectly….

I am very excited to share these uber fun engagement shots of Bethany and Kevin with you, taken by the very talented Carolyn Scott. They encapsulate the fun and excitement of the couple. I especially love their take on the Spiderman-esque upside down kiss!

Now all I want to do is go to the park….
