Black and White

Monochrome weddings are sleek and stylish, whether you theme your whole day or just a small aspect like the tables.

The monochrome ceilings offer a real way to make an impact.

I love the Christian Louboutin shoes that one bride wore via Style Me Pretty….add those to the wish list!

Beach Romance

If you are contemplating a beach W-day then take a look at some of these beach weddings for inspiration.

I love the goodie bag full of sun tan lotion, sunglasses and info - depending on how optimistic I’m feeling for a heatwave August in England I may just have to copy that one!

Vintage Inspiration Board

I have created a vintage inspiration board from the stylized shoot by Christy Whitehead

Cath Kidston

Cath Kidston embodies country-chic and her style is so successful that it is now infiltrating weddings.

The easiest way to incorporate some Cath Kidston is through the fabric or wall paper in the name cards or favours.

I love the idea of buying a few different styles of fabric and DIY-ing napkins out of them….if only I could sew!

Easter

Spring has definitely been springing in England this week, which made me think of sourcing these Easter/Spring pictures for a wedding.

I think any April wedding can use touches of Easter as inspiration for the day. Personally, I love the idea of sending children (and adults) on an easter egg hunt…

Girly pinks

Take inspiration from a romantic and girly colour scheme.

As Aerosmith once said, ‘Pink, is my new obsession.’ As such, this may appeal to him and all those who heard his declaration of love for the colour pink and thought, ‘yes Aerosmith, it really is a great colour, I agree.’

Pink may not be your favourite colour but these little details would certainly add a bit of feminine quality if you feel that your HTB is getting too much of his own way.

Alice in Wonderland

Whether you take inspiration from the book, Disney or Tim Burton there is so much wedding pretty to take.

The ‘Eat Me’ and ‘Drink Me’ little tags are probably the easiest to incorporate and even DIY. Croquet on the lawn, waiters dressed as playing cards and quirky tables are all extremely achievable.

This is a great theme with tons of artistic licence, quirky ideas and a chance to dress your ushers like the Mad Hatter…

Rustic Elegance

If you’re like me then you will love this ‘shabby-chic’ look. Mason jars, candles, hay bales, wooden logs - maybe even a rippling bicepped farmer to cut the logs for you (ok, venturing into fantasy land) but the point is it all comes together to create real rustic romance.

Such an easy and cheap look to re-create.

I especially love the hanging umbrella’s - genius.

Afternoon Tea

Vintage tea cups, finger sandwiches, jam scones and of course Champagne make the perfect Afternoon Tea.

You can adapt this theme by using teapots and tea cups as vases, add a final course of coffee or tea with a scone or my absolute favourite idea is to serve your champagne out of vintage teapots into your guest’s very own vintage tea cups (credit for this idea has to go to my future mother-in-law)

So very British and so very scrummy.

Flying the British Flag

Not just because it’s the jubilee but because there is so much pretty in a British affair. A bit of patriotism goes a long way.

Once again, notonthehighstreet and Etsy are my sources.
