Interesting Details
I love thinking about the little things for the W-day, there is no pressure (at least I don’t put any on myself) and you can have real fun with it.
The thing I love the most is thinking of ways to use items you already have around the house - you definitely don’t need an endless budget to add some personal details to your day.

Lovely lovely lanterns
I seem to be growing a lantern fetish. I’m blaming it on the wedding but maybe this is the start of a whole new me?!
I love lanterns. I could buy 100 lanterns for the wedding and still want more.
Bizarre? Yes, I think so too but I am embracing it with open arms.
For those of you who also suffer from lantern love then here is some inspiration on styles and what to do with them.

Name Cards
It doesn’t have to just be a name on a card. I love the idea of guests at a wedding constantly looking around thinking ‘ahhhh, that’s a great little touch.’Interesting name cards are a great way getting that little gasp and also potentially using the opportunity to give you guests a little keepsake.
You could also incorporate the name tag with a glass saver which guests could keep for the whole evening, saving people from the problem of putting their drink down before a quick dance and forgetting about it. This little tactic may even save you a little on evening drinks, as people won’t be constantly leaving half full glasses around the venue!

DIY String Heart
(via greenweddingshoes)
Materials Needed:
• piece of wood – the bigger the more dramatic!
• string – we used the pink neon thin rope you can find at Home Depot, but you could use any yarn or string
• box of nails (if want a nail with a decent head so the string won’t pop off)
• spray paint to paint the wood
• white paper to draw the heart onStep 1: Spray paint the wood the background color you picked. We used dark gray, so the pink would really pop
Step 2: Once the paint is dry, tape the wood with the white paper and draw the heart shape on the paper
Step 3: Time to get the hammer out! Nail around the entire outline of the heart – we spaced our nails about an inch apart.
Step 4: Once all your nails are in. Remove the white paper and throw it away.
Step 5: Now the fun part. Get your string and tie a knot around the head of one of the nails. Keep stringing the string around nails. There isn’t a right or wrong way – just keep going until you like the pattern you created. I also then outlined the entire heart to make the outline pop a bit more also.
Total cost for this project – $35 (the most expensive part is the wood!) and it can be done in a few hours.
